Recipes of different types of food in Asian cuisine


Asian cuisine is a collective term for the cuisines of East, Southeast, and South Asia. This article focuses on recipes for different types of food in Asian cuisine.

Here is a list of a few famous dishes of Asian cuisine along with the recipes.

1. Bibimbap

Bibimbap is a Korean dish consisting of rice, vegetables, and meat (usually beef).

Ingredients:

1 cup uncooked white rice, 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, 1 pound lean ground beef, 1 onion, diced, 3 cloves garlic, minced, 1 teaspoon ginger, minced, 2 carrots, julienned, 1 zucchini, julienned, 4 mushrooms, sliced, 1/2 head cabbage, shredded, 4 green onions, thinly sliced,3 tablespoons gochujang (Korean chili paste), 3 tablespoons soy sauce, 2 tablespoons sesame oil, 2 tablespoons sugar, Toasted sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions:

1. Cook the rice according to package instructions.

2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat the oil. Add the beef and onion and cook until the beef is browned.

3. Add the garlic, ginger, carrots, zucchini, mushrooms, cabbage, and green onions and cook for 5 minutes.

4. In a small bowl, whisk together the gochujang, soy sauce, sesame oil, and sugar. Add this to the pan and cook for 2 minutes.

5. Serve the bibimbap in bowls with rice and top with sesame seeds.

2. Nasi Goreng

Nasi goreng is an Indonesian fried rice dish made with rice, vegetables, and meat (usually chicken or shrimp).

Ingredients:

1 tablespoon vegetable oil, 1 onion, diced, 3 cloves garlic, minced, 1 teaspoon ginger, minced, 1 pound chicken or shrimp, 2 cups uncooked white rice, 3 green onions, thinly sliced, 4 tablespoons soy sauce, 2 tablespoons Kecap Manis (Indonesian sweet soy sauce),3 tablespoons sambal Oelek (Indonesian chili paste),2 eggs, lightly beaten

Instructions:

1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat the oil. Add the onion and cook until softened.

2. Add the garlic, ginger, and chicken or shrimp and cook for 5 minutes.

3. Add the rice and green onions and cook for 2 minutes.

4. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, Kecap Manis, and Sambal Oelek. Add this to the pan and cook for 2 minutes.

5. Push the rice to one side of the pan and add the eggs. Cook until scrambled and then mix into the rice.

6. Serve nasi goreng in bowls with a fried egg on top (if desired).

3. Pad Thai

Pad Thai is a Thai dish made with rice noodles, vegetables, and protein (usually chicken or shrimp).

Ingredients:

8 ounces dried rice noodles, 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, 3 cloves garlic, minced, 1 teaspoon ginger, minced, 1 pound chicken or shrimp, 2 eggs, lightly beaten, 4 green onions, thinly sliced, 1/4 cup peanuts, chopped, 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped, 3 tablespoons fish sauce, 3 tablespoons brown sugar, 2 tablespoons lime juice, 1 tablespoon chili paste

Instructions:

1. Soak the noodles in warm water for 30 minutes.

2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat the oil. Add the garlic and ginger and cook for 1 minute.

3. Add the chicken or shrimp and cook for 5 minutes.

4. Add the noodles and green onions and cook for 2 minutes.

5. Push the noodles to one side of the pan and add the eggs. Cook until scrambled and then mix into the noodles.

6. Add the peanuts, cilantro, fish sauce, brown sugar, lime juice, and chili paste and cook for 2 minutes.

7. Serve pad Thai in bowls with peanuts and cilantro on top (if desired).

4. Curry

Curry is a dish made with meat or vegetables and a curry paste or powder. It is popular in Indian, Thai, and Japanese cuisine.

Ingredients:

1 tablespoon vegetable oil, 1 onion, diced, 3 cloves garlic, minced, 1 teaspoon ginger, minced, 1 pound chicken or shrimp, 2 tablespoons curry paste (or 1 tablespoon curry powder), 2 cups coconut milk, 4 green onions, thinly sliced, 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped

Instructions:

1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat the oil. Add the onion and cook until softened.

2. Add the garlic, ginger, and chicken or shrimp and cook for 5 minutes.

3. Add the curry paste or powder and coconut milk and cook for 2 minutes.

4. Add the green onions and cilantro and cook for 1 minute.

5. Serve curry over rice with cilantro on top (if desired).

5. Fried Rice
