Asian fusion restaurants are becoming increasingly popular in the United States. These restaurants offer a unique blend of Asian and American cuisine, and often feature dishes from multiple Asian countries. If you’re looking for some new and interesting recipes to try, check out these five Asian fusion dishes.

1. Bibimbap

Bibimbap is a Korean dish consisting of rice, vegetables, and meat (usually beef).

Ingredients:

1 cup uncooked white rice, 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, 1 pound lean ground beef, 1 onion, diced, 3 cloves garlic, minced, 1 teaspoon ginger, minced, 2 carrots, julienned, 1 zucchini, julienned, 4 mushrooms, sliced, 1/2 head cabbage, shredded, 4 green onions, thinly sliced,3 tablespoons gochujang (Korean chili paste), 3 tablespoons soy sauce, 2 tablespoons sesame oil, 2 tablespoons sugar, Toasted sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions:

1. Cook the rice according to package instructions.

2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat the oil. Add the beef and onion and cook until the beef is browned.

3. Add the garlic, ginger, carrots, zucchini, mushrooms, cabbage, and green onions and cook for 5 minutes.

4. In a small bowl, whisk together the gochujang, soy sauce, sesame oil, and sugar. Add this to the pan and cook for 2 minutes.

5. Serve the bibimbap in bowls with rice and top with sesame seeds.

2. Pad Thai

Pad Thai is a Thai dish made with rice noodles, chicken, shrimp, and vegetables.

Ingredients:

1/2 pound dried rice noodles, 1/4 cup vegetable oil, 2 eggs, beaten, 1 tablespoon garlic, minced, 1 pound chicken breast, thinly sliced, 1/2 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined, 2 green onions, thinly sliced, 1 red bell pepper, julienned, 3 tablespoons fish sauce, 3 tablespoons sugar, 2 tablespoons lime juice

Instructions:

1. Soak the rice noodles in warm water for 30 minutes. Drain and set aside.

2. In a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat, heat the oil. Add the eggs and scramble until cooked.

3. Add the garlic, chicken, shrimp, green onions, bell pepper, fish sauce, sugar, and lime juice. Cook for 5 minutes.

4. Add the noodles and cook for 2 minutes.

5. Serve with lime wedges if desired.

3. General Tso’s Chicken

General Tso’s chicken is a Chinese-American dish made with chicken in a sweet and spicy sauce.

Ingredients:

1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into 1-inch cubes, 1/2 cup cornstarch, 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, 1/2 cup chicken broth, 1/4 cup soy sauce, 1 tablespoon rice vinegar, 1 tablespoon garlic, minced, 1 teaspoon ginger, minced, 1/4 teaspoon white pepper, 2 green onions, thinly sliced

Instructions:

1. Place the chicken in a large bowl and add the cornstarch. Toss to coat.

2. In a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat, heat the oil. Add the chicken and cook until browned.

3. Add the chicken broth, soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and white pepper. Cook for 2 minutes.

4. Add the green onion and cook for 1 minute.

5. Serve with rice if desired.

4. Beef and Broccoli

Beef and broccoli is a Chinese-American dish made with beef and broccoli in an oyster sauce.

Ingredients:

1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced, 1/2 cup oyster sauce, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce, 1 tablespoon sugar, 1 teaspoon cornstarch, 2 cloves garlic, minced, 1 teaspoon ginger, minced, 3 tablespoons vegetable oil, 2 heads broccoli, cut into florets

Instructions:

1. In a large bowl or ziplock bag, combine the beef, oyster sauce, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sugar, cornstarch, garlic, and ginger. Marinate for 30 minutes.

2. In a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat, heat the oil. Add the beef and cook until browned.

3. Add the broccoli and cook for 5 minutes.

4. Serve with rice if desired.

5. Egg Rolls

Egg rolls are a Chinese-American dish made with pork, shrimp, and vegetables wrapped in a wonton wrapper and fried.

Ingredients:

1/2 pound ground pork, 1/2 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined, 2 carrots, julienned, 1/2 head cabbage, shredded, 4 green onions, thinly sliced, 10 egg roll wrappers

Instructions:

1. In a large bowl or ziplock bag, combine the pork, shrimp, carrots, cabbage, green onion, and egg roll wrappers. Marinate for 30 minutes.

2. In a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat, heat the oil. Add the pork and shrimp and cook until browned.

3. Add the carrots, cabbage, and green onion and cook for 5 minutes.

4. Fry the egg rolls in hot oil until golden brown.

5. Serve with sweet and sour sauce if desired.
